Glad we’ve got that Timberwolves future.
Seattle at St. Louis
The Mariners have been streaky for years, which can make them hard to handicap. Tonight, though, George Kirby looks reliable and Andre Pallante doesn’t. We’re one good week away from Seattle being the contenders they’re supposed to be. Not a bad chance that good week starts tonight.
Pick: Seattle to win –138. 11.49 units to win 8.33.
NLCS
The Cubs have their issues, but they’re in a good position, the offense should be real, and they do have the means to bolster the pitching staff if they’re willing to pull that trigger. Plus, they should eventually get Justin Steele back.
Pick: Chicago to win +1000. 2.00 units to win 20.00.
NL West
This is boring, but we’ll take an eleven percent return when offered, especially since we can’t get postseason value on the Dodgers unless something goes very much awry.
Pick: Los Angeles to win –900. 2.00 units to win 0.22.
NBA Finals
We’re not going to completely lay off the Cavs, but we’re going to pump the brakes on them for a moment.
Pick: Boston to win +650. 1.00 unit to win 6.50.
Eastern Conference
That means we’re putting even more on the Celtics, who account for 13 of the 18 NBA futures units we’ve placed so far.
Pick: Boston to win +150. 1.00 unit to win 1.50.
Stanley Cup
There’s a very good chance the Hurricanes reach the Eastern Conference Finals. If they play the Lightning, we could be in trouble. This helps give us leverage in that scenario.
Pick: Carolina to win +350. 1.00 unit to win 3.50.
Western Conference
Over in the West, we’re taking the underdog because 1) Gelo likes them and 2) if they get this back even, we can take Dallas too. Gelo likes the Wild, but it’s really not sold on the Avalanche being inevitable.
Pick: Minnesota to win +1700. 1.00 unit to win 17.00.
