Today’s Best Bets: Jacob deGrom!

Good stuff from the Braves again, and the Flyers have been a nice help. More of the same today.

Pittsburgh at Texas

There isn’t a lot of great stuff on today’s board, but Bubba Chandler’s early results point towards him probably being a little overvalued.

Pick: Texas to win –152. 12.46 units to win 8.20.

NL Central

The Cubs are on a nice little run. Nice enough to make them the reasonable NL Central favorite again while still leaving them valuable. Our NL Central horses are now Chicago, St. Louis, and Pittsburgh. Dangerous trio to trust (in the bad way), but that’s probably where the value’s coming from.

Pick: Chicago to win +155. 4.00 units to win 6.20.

NBA Finals

Same thing today as yesterday. We still think the Celtics offer the best combination of probability and value. We still think the Cavs are much likelier than any other Eastern Conference team to beat them.

Pick: Boston to win +650. 1.00 unit to win 6.50.
Pick: Cleveland to win +1500. 1.00 unit to win 15.00.

Western Conference

I don’t think every sportsbook updated their odds yet after last night, because Gelo rates the Ducks as the 7th-worst team in the whole NHL right now, and it still says this is hugely positive-EV.

Pick: Anaheim to win +3300. 1.00 unit to win 33.00.

Stanley Cup

Elsewhere, we’re putting even more on an Eastern Conference team to win the Stanley Cup. Spreading it around over there.

Pick: Buffalo to win +1500. 1.00 unit to win 15.00.

These numbers are for the 2025–26 effort, which is currently scheduled to end at the end of the NBA Finals or Stanley Cup Final (whichever comes second). Sorry for the poor transparency. We’ll do a better job tracking the 2026–27 campaign, which is already underway with our MLB futures portfolio.

2025–26: –694.66 units (started with 1,000-unit bankroll)

2025–26: –7% average ROI (weighted by unit; sample size: 1,127 single-game markets plus seven completed futures portfolios)

Pre-2025: 0% average ROI (worse when limited to only sports)

Units taken from best odds we can find at major sportsbooks available to most Americans.
