Merrill Kelly found it on Saturday, but thankfully, the Sixers never did. We’re back. Double NHL and NBA futures today because of our Mother’s Day absence.
Tampa Bay at Toronto
For as good as Drew Rasmussen’s been, Kevin Gausman’s been even better. Don’t put too much stock into last week’s sweep in Florida.
Pick: Toronto to win –116. 7.80 units to win 6.72.
ALCS
That said, the Rays just keep doing it. We already have a big longshot on them to win the World Series (100-to-1), but while that translates into some degree of pennant leverage, it’s better to have the pennant future.
Pick: Tampa Bay to win +1400. 2.00 units to win 28.00.
World Series
Elsewhere, we’re going to take a little more Atlanta. They’ve been the best team in the National League, and while regression will come in all directions, they’ve also built a nine-game lead in the East a quarter of the way through the season.
Pick: Atlanta to win +1200. 2.00 units to win 24.00.
Western Conference
Yes, the Timberwolves are hard to account for numerically. But the Spurs are not looking ready for the Thunder.
Pick: Oklahoma City to win –270. 4.00 units to win 1.48.
Stanley Cup
Over in the NHL, the Avalanche look overvalued, especially after that 5–1 throttling on Saturday night. Markets don’t seem to appreciate how much better the Eastern Conference was this year compared to the West. If the Avalanche do go down, they might catch up, which could make this one of our last chances to get good value on the Stanley Cup favorites.
Pick: Carolina to win +160. 4.00 units to win 6.40.

These numbers are for the 2025–26 effort, which is currently scheduled to end at the end of the NBA Finals or Stanley Cup Final (whichever comes second). Sorry for the poor transparency. We’ll do a better job tracking the 2026–27 campaign, which is already underway with our MLB futures portfolio.
2025–26: –671.82 units (started with 1,000-unit bankroll)
2025–26: –7% average ROI (weighted by unit; sample size: 1,137 single-game markets plus seven completed futures portfolios)
Pre-2025: 0% average ROI (worse when limited to only sports)
Units taken from best odds we can find at major sportsbooks available to most Americans.
