Today’s Best Bets: More Mets

Last MLB futures of the week, plus everything else.

New York (NL) at Arizona

Same play as yesterday. Merrill Kelly hasn’t found it yet.

Pick: New York to win –107. 7.70 units to win 7.20.

AL Central

We’re wary of the Guardians, as everyone should always be, but with these we’re in a good position if the division breaks to the field, especially since we were early to the Twins.

Pick: Detroit to win +200. 2.00 units to win 4.00.
Pick: Kansas City to win +390. 2.00 units to win 7.80.

NBA Finals

The odds keep dropping, but not fast enough.

Pick: New York to win +700. 2.00 units to win 14.00.

Stanley Cup

With the Sabres losing Game 2, and badly, the Canes’ ECF opponent is now worse in our average simulation. This is partly because the Sabres’ power rating dropped and partly because the Canadiens are now likelier to win the series—our model has Montreal marginally worse than Buffalo. Meanwhile, the Avalanche are likelier to have to deal with the Knights than they were yesterday, which increases the probability the Avs lose in the West. That too helps the Canes, turning a bad price yesterday into a good one today.

Pick: Carolina to win +165. 2.00 units to win 3.30.

These numbers are for the 2025–26 effort, which is currently scheduled to end at the end of the NBA Finals or Stanley Cup Final (whichever comes second). Sorry for the poor transparency. We’ll do a better job tracking the 2026–27 campaign, which is already underway with our MLB futures portfolio.

2025–26: –664.12 units (started with 1,000-unit bankroll)

2025–26: –7% average ROI (weighted by unit; sample size: 1,136 single-game markets plus seven completed futures portfolios)

Pre-2025: 0% average ROI (worse when limited to only sports)

Units taken from best odds we can find at major sportsbooks available to most Americans.
