America’s Biggest Racing Weekend Is Here

It’s the biggest weekend in American racing. Home of the biggest day in American racing. Home of the day when sometimes single drivers will race 1,100 miles.

Nobody’s doing both this year, but even so, it’s a big day. The Indy 500. The Coca-Cola 600. Both on Sunday. Buckle up (especially if you’re a driver, seeing as driving unbuckled at those speeds would be quite dangerous).

Here’s the weekend schedule (F1 is off):

Friday

Tonight.

NASCAR Truck Series: North Carolina Education Lottery 200
Where: Charlotte Motor Speedway (basically NASCAR’s headquarters, and really I do think they have an office either at or near the track)
When: 8:30 PM EDT
Broadcast: FS1

Really gotta wonder whether North Carolina should raise its taxes if it’s having to lottery off education.

Saturday

Tomorrow.

NASCAR Xfinity Series: Alsco Uniforms 300
Where: Charlotte Motor Speedway (1.5 miles but not boring because it hosts the 600 so it can’t be boring)
When: 1:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: FS1

The half-marathon to Sunday’s marathon.

Sunday

THE DAY OF DAYS.

IndyCar: Indy 500
Where: Indianapolis Motor Speedway
When: Green Flag at 12:45 PM EDT, I’m seeing (have to list the green flag time here because there’s so much prerace coverage; not that you shouldn’t watch the prerace coverage)
Broadcast: NBC

NASCAR Cup Series: Coca-Cola 600
Where: Charlotte Motor Speedway
When: 6:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: FOX

Enjoy. Full previews on Sunday morning.
