Westlake Alumni Power Rankings

As some of you may have heard, Nick Foles and Drew Brees went to the same high school. Sam Ehlinger went there too. Not sure if that’s been covered on a broadcast in the last 24 hours, so wanted to put it out there.

That high school is in Austin. Kind of. It services part of Austin and part of a couple little towns that incorporated themselves separately from Austin for reasons unknown to me but assumedly related to property taxes. The high school’s name is Westlake High School. The area it’s in is known colloquially as Westlake. There is some beautiful land in Westlake. There are some obnoxious people in Westlake. Not in their words. In their hoit and their toit.

Now that Westlake’s identity has been established for those unfamiliar with the school, your Westlake Alumni Power Rankings following consideration of the events of the weekend (Nick Foles doing something cool, Sam Ehlinger doing something cool, and Drew Brees landing on par for the course):

1. Justin Tucker (LW: 1)

Of course. Would take a lot to dethrone this man.

2. Drew Brees (LW: 2)

It’s still “Nick Foles went to Drew Brees’s high school” on these broadcasts, and Foles isn’t obviously better than Brees or anything (I’ll readily engage in a Nick Foles vs. Drew Brees debate as to quarterback quality, though, so hit me up if you think Brees is better and want to get wrecked by some logic).

3. Nick Foles (LW: 4)

Yes, Ehlinger had a great weekend. But Foles reactivated a larger reputation.

4. Sam Ehlinger (LW: 3)

Ehlinger told his coach that Texas Tech had left the Longhorns too much time when Texas Tech took a fifteen-point lead in the fourth quarter. He then won the game in overtime. What a dude.

5. Huston Street (LW: NR)

Remember this guy?
