How about that Avalanche?
No baseball today. We’ll catch up on the futures later this week.
Western Conference
We’re fairly big OKC doubters. The problem is, we’re not fully sold on the Spurs. This isn’t a hedge, but it’s a bit of a leverage play. We have a ton in Knicks futures, and markets are indicating the Knicks will be a much bigger underdog against the Thunder than the Spurs.
Pick: Oklahoma City to win –190. 2.00 units to win 1.05.
Eastern Conference
We’d love to place an Avalanche hedge, but the prices there are even more ridiculous than they’ve been. So, it’s more Canadiens. They’re the upside scenario for us. The Hurricanes are the good scenario. The Knights are going to be hedge-able, but they’re a bad scenario right now. Just not as bad as the Avs.
Pick: Montreal to win +189. 2.00 units to win 3.78.

These numbers are for the 2025–26 effort, which is currently scheduled to end at the end of the NBA Finals or Stanley Cup Final (whichever comes second). We’ll track the 2026–27 campaign in more detail when it’s fully underway (it’s partly underway right now with our MLB futures portfolio).
2025–26: –677.46 units (started with 1,000-unit bankroll)
2025–26: –7% average ROI (weighted by unit; sample size: 1,161 single-game markets plus seven completed futures portfolios and two partly completed futures portfolios)
Pre-2025: 0% average ROI (worse when limited to only sports)
Units taken from best odds we can find at major sportsbooks available to most Americans.
