The Senators’ Undefeated Run Is Done

We knew the undefeated season wouldn’t last forever. It lasted one more night than we expected, even. But that doesn’t make it sting any less.

The Final:

Maple Leafs 3, Senators 2

How It Happened:

Well, it says here that the Leafs extended their lead to two goals early in the third period, and Jimmy Stü put one in the net for the good guys with a little more than eight minutes left, but it wasn’t enough. Senators got outshot 40-19, which seems like a lot, but they did substantially outhit the Leafs again, and would you rather score more or be tougher?

Any Fights?

Nope.

Standings:

Sens down to last place. But it’s a four-way tie, which means they’re also tied for playoff position. It’s good to be the Sens.

What’s Next:

Senators host the Jets on Tuesday. Would hate to be the Jets in that matchup.
