The Great Thing About QR Code Menus

I received the following series of texts from a friend the other day:

Alli and I sat down to a nice meal in the Tuscan countryside (qr code menu allowing me to text) and moon river is playing

Shes like did you just say “milk river?”

Ummm maybe

First of all, hopefully Alli doesn’t read this blog, so I don’t blow my friend’s cover.

Second of all, I’m honored to be thought of by friends on Italian vacations.

Third of all, I’m honored to be associated in my friend’s mind with a song as beautiful as Moon River.

Fourth of all—and this is the main point here—being able to send a quick text or check a quick score is a great facet of the QR Code Menu movement.

It is rude to check your phone at the dinner table. I understand this. But at the same time, sometimes you think of something you really want to address, and sometimes if you don’t address that thing, it hangs over your head and distracts you all meal, and sometimes explaining why you want to address the thing takes longer than just addressing it would in the first place.

Which is why QR Code Menus are so helpful. Need to address the thing? Just pull up the menu, slide into the relevant app, deal with what you need to deal with, and voila—you’re in the clear. You can’t let yourself take this too far, of course—if you do, you might end up ordering 15 appetizers and not being present at the table—but for one quick thing, like texting your favorite dairy blogger that you’re thinking of him in Tuscany? QR Code Menus, at your service.

A lot of folks said big technological and cultural advancements would come out of the pandemic.

I’m finally seeing what they mean.
