The Dodgers Have Their Dynamic Duo

Last night, the Dodgers used a brilliant strategy:

Pair the likeliest pitcher in baseball to be a cannibal with the best pitcher in baseball, and let no one else put their feet on the mound.

It worked.

Together, Max Scherzer and Joe Kelly worked nine innings, allowing one unearned run on six hits (Scherzer allowed those) while striking out fourteen.

On the season, the numbers are even wilder: Over 189 combined innings, they’ve struck out a combined 248 batters, walked just 44, and posted a 2.48 ERA.

Would hate to be on the other side of this pair in October.
