Sens/Leafs, Round Two

Oh my word, Leafs, how is this even allowed?

You can do an amateur tryout? You can just do that? Because you messed up on the salary cap? Between this and the Lightning doing the playoff bolstering, I am beginning to believe you can do just about anything in the NHL and everyone who doesn’t exceed the cap is choosing not to.

Whom:

Senators vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Where:

Toronto. (Boo!!)

When:

7:00 PM Ottawa Time (EDT)

Television:

So I guess all these games are on ESPN+, which I did not immediately realize. I mean, I’d thought that, but then the NHL (is Rob Manfred running the NHL?) only had it for some games on their schedule, so I figured I’d gotten it wrong. Might have to get ESPN+. Would help some other things, too. We’ll see.

Anyway, game’s on ESPN+ and I think that’s it in the states.

The Odds:

Sens +210; Leafs -250; o/u 6 (o -120) [English translation: The Senators are about 31% likely to win and 69% likely to lose; the expected number of goals scored is something like 6.15]

The Opponent:

The Leafs are not coming off an off-day this time, so no advantage there. Trying to even up the season series.

The Senators:

Matt Murray’s on the IR now for at least the weekend, so it’s Anton Forsberg in goal again for the Sens, with the assumption being Filip Gustavsson will start tomorrow.

I didn’t realize the Stars had a game tonight themselves. That evens tomorrow out rest-wise. If you can get through this weekend holding four points from three games, that seems like a great spot to be if you’re the Senators.

Overall, nothing much to lose tonight. Already got the home win in the home-and-home. House money.
