NIT Stu’s NIT Bracket Picks

Less than two hours to go. Picks have been made. Used vibes and vibes alone.

Thoughts:

  • Mali Smith’s injury hurts Dayton too much for me.
  • I don’t trust Toledo.
  • Casey Alexander’s been here before.
  • Xavier’s vibe is awful right now.
  • Pitino’s so good at in-game coaching that I like him to figure it out enough to get to the Final Four. Feel like talent catches up to them there.
  • Porter Moser doesn’t seem like he’ll mail it in.
  • Afraid St. Bonaventure won’t have enough in the tank and will have a rare low-turnout game.
  • UVA playing at home sadly sinks our beloved Ben Howland.
  • Big fan of North Texas, but part of this is the sneak factor. Another part is that they’ve been building to this. Took the easy step first, last year, winning a game in that other tournament while the NIT went on back in Denton. Now, they’re after the real thing.
  • Kyle Smith’s going to spreadsheet his way into a little run, but this seems like the year BYU doesn’t fall short.
  • I haven’t paid attention to Buzz Williams for a while but I remember being very impressed with him back right before A&M hired him. Also doesn’t seem like a guy who will let players take it lightly.
  • I like Steve Forbes’s intensity, but I have some questions about how bad Wake will want it. Not a lot of questions, but enough.

Good luck to all in our bracket challenge. You’re up against the best NIT bracket pickers in the world. Each other.
