NIT Bracket Challenge: Michigan Out, Cincinnati Advances

Vanderbilt beat Michigan. Cincinnati beat Hofstra. Both those teams are through to the second round.

Where does this leave us?

At the moment, two brackets—NIT MADNESS and Crocokyle—are three points short of perfection. We know little about either, but we’re learning more about the man some are calling “Croc.” This is all hearsay, but the rumor is that he’s a musician with a few controversial singles still floating around the interwebs, and that he made his picks based off the quality of gas station hibachi in Morehead, Kentucky. Maybe he should have been in our celebrity bracket.

Speaking of celebrities, only four of the fourteen remaining teams were picked by any celebrity to win it all, leaving us with a strong probability of a total whiff by our elites. Make of that what you may.

Michigan was a popular champion, but Vanderbilt was more popular. 13% of remaining brackets have the Commodores winning it all, and those 13% have to be feeling pretty good about themselves right now.

No one had Hofstra winning the title.

Six more games tomorrow, I’ll be in the Super Pit for most of the day so probably no live updates. We’ll give you the rundown once the last game of the second round is done out in Boulder. In the meantime, here’s the link to the scoreboard.

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday. No meaningful basketball from here, with the obvious exception being the CBI.
