Nice of the Senators to let the Canadiens Win One

Second game of a back-to-back? Third game in four days? Nothing to see here.

The Final:

Canadiens 3, Senators 1

How It Happened:

It was a close game. Sens had it within one up until an empty-netter there at the end. Just didn’t have it in ‘em.

Any Fights?

Nope. Cordial evening.

Standings:

Still in this.

Toronto: 36 points, 23 games played
Winnipeg: 29 points, 22 games played
Edmonton: 28 points, 24 games played
Montreal: 25 points, 21 games played
Calgary: 22 points, 23 games played
Vancouver: 20 points, 26 games played
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 17 points, 25 games played

Senators News:

Joey Daccord got the start in goal and played pretty well (Matt Murray got a rest, Marcus Högberg’s on the IR). Derek Stepan’s going to have season-ending surgery, as was suspected might be the case.

Senators Thoughts:

Not a bad showing. Making some things happen, staying close. Impressively, in the mix in the division as the halfway mark comes up.

What’s Next:

The fellas are taking a swing out west. Starts tomorrow night (Thursday) in Calgary.
