Joe Kelly Looks for Ring #2

Joe Kelly is back in the World Series. It’s his third visit to the Fall Classic, the first coming as a starter in 2013 with the Cardinals (he earned a no-decision in his only start, allowing two runs over five and a third), the second coming in 2018—a year we all remember well. He has one ring from those two, leaving him five short of MJ and nine short of YB (Yogi Berra). This week (and next week, probably), he looks to narrow that gap.

Overall, our hero’s pitched better in the World Series than he has over his regular season career, or over any other flavor of postseason competition. He’s thrown eleven and a third World Series innings, allowing two runs—both earned—on six hits and three walks while striking out 16. In other words, when the World Series comes around, Joe Kelly is an absolute force of nature.

Keep the National Weather Service alert. Joe Kelly’s back in his natural habitat. And he’s looking for prey.
