Joe Kelly Dominated Again

There is an upside to wild pitches with two strikes.

Sometimes they’ll set a guy up for a four-strikeout inning.

While Joe Kelly did not strike out four batters in one inning yesterday, he did strike out three, and he got the fourth—whose last name is Yastrzemski, I might add—to fly out to end the inning.

He hit 98 on the gun.

He threw eleven strikes, and only three balls.

He struck elation into the hearts of the faithful.

Yes, another triumphant outing for Joe Kelly, who’s now struck out five of the last six batters he’s faced, and hasn’t allowed a run all month, lowering his ERA to an impressive 7.52 (a less impressive 6.27 without the April Fools Day prank).

The arc of the Joe Kelly season is long, but it bends towards strikeouts.
