I’m Still Learning Japanese. But I’m Not Going to Post About It for a While.

Yu Darvish pitched again last night (and struck many batters out, I might add). So I took another Japanese lesson from The Internet™. But there wasn’t really any new content from it—I’m just learning all the characters still—so while I’ll keep the lessons going, because I am a committed young man, I’m going to stop posting about them every time. You guys aren’t clicking on it, and I don’t blame you.

Beyond just clicks, though, our editorial board has made this decision in an effort to increase uncertainty. Our hope is that somewhere, every few weeks, someone will find a little thought in their brain whispering, “is that guy still learning Japanese so he can befriend Yu Darvish on The Internet™?”

The answer is yes. And one day—ideally sometime around Opening Day—I will slide into Yu’s mentions in a bumbling attempt to tell him he’s the best in his native tongue. And that will (hopefully) create some good content.
