Could the “Stu Shot” Combat Potential Influenza Vaccine Hesitancy?

There’s some concern out there that hesitancy in certain corners regarding the coronavirus vaccine will make people less likely to take the flu vaccine, and that this will combine with an already-potentially-high surge in flu cases (kind of like we’re seeing with RSV right now) to, well, drive the surge even higher. Doctors want you to get the flu shot. Nursing homes want you to get the flu shot. I want you to get the flu shot.

Which is why I’m opening up this offer to anyone who wants to use it: If you think it’ll help for you to put my face on the syringe for the influenza vaccine and call it a Stu Shot, you can do that. You have my permission. Don’t even have to pay me. (Although maybe you could at least mention the blog. Don’t have to, you know, go on and on about it. Just a little blog mention while you’ve got ‘em there. Tell ‘em about The Barking Crow.)

Good luck out there, vaccinators.

  1. check your privilege. i plan on naming my child Comirnaty. i even bought a custom onesie with the name stitched on it.

  2. A much better name for a vaccine then Pfizer calling their covid-19 vaccine Comirnaty! What kind of name even is that?!
