Burnley Hosts Watford as Bad Vibes Abound

First off, the guy who organized the plane and banner that flew over Man City’s stadium Monday with Burnley’s name attached has been identified. May have even come forward and taken ownership himself. It’s something of a story right now in Burnley’s part of the world, it seems—the guy and his girlfriend both also had racist comments on social media, and both have been fired from their jobs—but the biggest thing for us to know, as Burnley fans, is that there is evidently at least one organized far-right group of Burnley supporters. Which makes us at The Barking Crow an organized centrist group of Burnley supporters with progressive intentions on race. Add us to the list, whoever makes lists of groups of Burnley fans.

Burnley hosts Watford today. It does not appear, from viewing the table, that Watford is very good. Burnley’s still notably injured, though, so…don’t get your hopes up. The vibe is bad right now. Changing that is the key. And yes, part of that is rising in our opposition to the other caucuses within the Burnley coalition. We have never been more important as a bloc of Burnley backers.
