Boston Logan Has Good Rideshare Pickup

We all do this thing with our jobs, I think, where we learn about them, and become interested in them, and notice things out in the world because of them that we wouldn’t notice otherwise, even if our jobs are the most transactional in the world.

Boston Logan has a great rideshare pickup system.

It’s shoehorned in there, like everything else in Boston, tucked away in a parking garage, and I have no idea how hard or easy it is to get into it as a driver, but the pickup process itself is slick. If I remember right (I have been meaning to write this 200-word blog post since July, if you’re wondering how I’m doing), they have clearly numbered spaces and then the driver pulls in and can just pull forward to drive away once you’re in the car. It lends itself well to clarity in terms of figuring out where the hell your ride is, as a passenger, and it lends itself well to traffic flowing freely. Between this and the Big Dig, I’m starting to ask questions about Boston, which seems like a city where transportation should always be a nightmare. Who let the city planners lose up there?
