An Average Season by the Burnleys

The goal, when choosing Burnley as our favorite team, was to pick someone irrelevant. Burnley did not accomplish that goal. But with a 2-1 loss yesterday, they did finish tenth in the table, which is just about average. We’ll take it.

Some takeaways from the season:

  • Burnley playing a loathsome brand of footie was a nice bonus.
  • Weird how being around the top seven in the Premier League can count as a sort of victory. Shifts the irrelevance zone further down the field.
  • Weird how different success looks like by club. Really stratified league. The Leicester madness makes more sense now.
  • I love the Europa League but I even more so love Burnley’s quest to qualify, and can’t wait to begin that quest anew in September.

See you soon, fellow Burnley fans. Maybe there’ll be offseason news. I’ll probably miss it, though.
