Forgive Baylor if they look a little lackluster tonight. This isn’t exactly a come-up for the program. Not after 2013.
In 2013, Baylor made their second NIT Championship in five years. They won it, beating Iowa by a final score of 74-54. It was an emphatic national championship.
Now?
Now they’re playing on the junior circuit, against some team that hasn’t even sniffed the NIT for a couple decades now. They aren’t even playing in a basketball arena. They’re a long way from the bright lights of New York City (this is their point of view—I personally love Indianapolis).
I think we’ll all get it if they come out flat.
