Why the Cubs Should Trade Everyone Who Is Doing Bad for Joe Kelly

A friend of the blog has been telling us he’s hearing rumors about this happening, and while, to our knowledge, he has no sources, that’s never stopped us before.

Here’s why the Cubs trading everybody who is doing bad for Joe Kelly makes sense for everyone involved:

Why It Makes Sense for the Cubs

They get Joe Kelly, who’s won two of the last three World Series. Even if you zoom out and call it two of the last four (some statistical cheating), this would give the Cubs a 50/50 shot to win it all, which is a lot better than their current 0.3/99.7 shot or whatever it is.

Why It Makes Sense for the Guys the Cubs Trade

They would get better by virtue of not playing for the Cubs anymore. See: Kyle Schwarber, who returned to his natural habitat by walking it off against the Cardinals last night.

I think shadow suspensions might reset if you get traded. Not sure, since there isn’t a rule book on shadow suspensions (the Constitution is dead), but it’s worth a shot. Also worth noting the color similarities between the teams, as the friend of the blog has noted himself. Easy for parents everywhere to iron Cubs logos onto their child’s Dodgers Joe Kelly gear.
