Why Is Athlete the Only Profession That Involves Throwback Uniforms?

Apologies if someone has brought this idea up before.

Professional sports teams have throwback games, in which they wear uniforms from bygone days. Gaudy things from the 70’s and 80’s. Old-timey things from the 20’s and 30’s. Things from the 50’s that mysteriously help your granddad’s posture when he sees them.

Why don’t other professions do this? Especially the big brand ones? Have a throwback day at McDonald’s. That kind of thing. Do they? Am I missing this? I know about costume parties. I’m aware of the existence of costume parties. I wanna see a throwback day at a hospital.

  1. yah but there are like hundreds of thousands of McDonalds employees. it would cost too much. this is not a good idea.

  2. Throw back day at the hospital—be careful what you wish for:
    Rusty saws in the OR
    Surgical drapes reused multiple times
    No antibiotics
    Doctors in their street clothes
    Nurses smoking in the corridors

    Somethings shouldn’t be revisited—ever!!
