What’s the Deal with Pudding?

So there’s this pudding at Trader Joe’s that I’ve been wanting to try, but for some reason I feel like I’ve been steering away from pudding lately (the last decade or so lately), and this weekend I overcame that impulse and…it’s good! The pudding’s good! I’m enjoying the pudding.

I don’t know why I’ve been steering away from the pudding. I liked it when my mom made it growing up, but when I got out into the cafeteria world, it just became a no-go for me. Something about the way it looked all glooped on top of itself in those pans. Something about the way cartoon characters would blech when offered tapioca pudding. I’ve never tried tapioca pudding. Is tapioca pudding good?

Anyway, got the pudding, tried the pudding, enjoying the pudding, glad I got two containers of it (they’re pretty small, but not as small as they looked, pudding is filling whoa). And I’m curious. What’s the societal stance on pudding these days? Are we pro-pudding? Anti-pudding? Pudding-neutral? Pudding-divided? I’m talking the goopy stuff. Not figgy pudding.
