As many of you know, I listen to a lot of English pop sensation Maisie Peters. I also follow her on Instagram. Where she often uses the word “feral.”
I know what feral means when we’re talking about cats. I understand that. And that makes me think I understand what Peters is saying when she uses it. But I’m just not sure. Also: Is this a Gen Z thing? Is this a British thing? Is this a British Gen Z thing?
Overall, my impression is that feral, as the songwriter uses it, just means out of control/wild. If that isn’t true, though, or if there’s more nuance than that, please: Somebody, tell me. Because if I run into a teenager from Dorset and embarrass myself, there’s no coming back for my image and my reputation.
