What Changing Transfer Rules Mean for the NIT

If you missed it, the NCAA is letting athletes play right away after transferring now. I think. To be completely honest, I didn’t read up on it. Saw the tweets, skimmed them, forgot about them, realized I needed an NIT blog post for today, thought I should address this.

Assuming I haven’t misunderstood, this probably doesn’t affect the NIT that much. If it does, it’s indirect and probably complex in some “mid-majors will make it more often because they’ll get more veteran players who can keep them competitive but not make them too good” way (that’s a hypothetical—not saying it’ll happen). Which is nice. Because if I have misunderstood, this means it isn’t that big of a deal anyway.
