On…was it Wednesday? I think it was Wednesday.
On Wednesday, our own Joe Stunardi named St. Bonaventure the preliminary NIT favorite. I quote:
I like a team like St. Bonaventure. Not a lot of meat on the schedule, tough-enough league with a tough-enough format to lose in the conference tournament, good-enough team to still win the NIT.
That’s the Bonnies, baby. NIT championship quality, and that is not an insult do not say that is an insult that is the highest compliment I ever give anybody (and I tell plenty of stray cats and my friend Ryan who lives in Boise that they’re handsome).
I’m excited. Are the Bonnies excited? Yes, but for entirely different reasons. This is how it works when you’re the preliminary NIT favorite. You don’t know you’re the preliminary NIT favorite, because you don’t read NIT blogs, and you’re a decent basketball team, so you have, you know, other ambitions. The ones society teaches you to want (we’re working on that).
Anyway, we’re all excited about the Bonnies. Go Bonnies go.
