Weber State plays Nevada tonight, and I’m torn.
On the one hand, I love Reno.
On the other, I kind of like Weber State.
On the one hand, Weber State should be the Beekeepers by now.
On the other, I should probably re-launch that campaign with more organized vigor.
On the one hand, Weber State sinking into even deeper obscurity might help my Beekeeper cause. I got two new Twitter followers Thursday. Not sure they can say that. We’ll see who has more public influence in eight months.
On the other, this site will get a few clicks if the soon-to-Beekeepers get a win over an FBS foe.
Regardless, the game’s happening tonight (I think—just occurred to me it might be this afternoon), and it’s a big opportunity for the lads. In the FCS, you get more losses than you do in the FBS if you want a shot at a title. But you still can’t lose more than three games and feel comfortably safe making the playoff out of the Big Sky (that’s Weber’s league). In an ambitious move, the Beekeeping Athletic Department scheduled two FBS opponents this year. One decent, one kinda bad. They lost to the decent one. Now they get the kinda bad one. It’s a big opportunity for the pride of Ogden.
