NIT Stu’s Notes: Tony Bennett, Come Hang; Dunk City at Wrigley; Other Crucial Matters

Let’s get to it.

VirgiNIT

Hmmm that sounds kind of weird. Oh well.

Virginia, already a sleeper NIT pick, grabbed a statement loss last night, falling to the United States Naval Academy. Were they just trying to support the troops in anticipation of Veterans Day? You tell me.

In other NIT news…I don’t know. Not a whole lot. Kentucky and Michigan State lost in the games people watched, so they’re closer to our mind than Duke is.

Good Enough for Texas, Good Enough for the Cubs

The Cubs hired Greg Brown as their new hitting coach, and we can only assume he’s the same Greg Brown who threw down those sick dunks and picked up Chick-Fil-A from me while in Austin last year.

The Senators Lost

The Sens, short-handed due to a variety of illnesses, played the Bruins close in Boston, but couldn’t pull it off. The word on Erik Brännström is that because he’s kind of a little guy, the Bruins treated him like a little guy, and not in a nice way.

Shaka 1, Texas 1

Texas looked dominant yesterday in their buy game and Marquette also won, making it 1-1 between our beloved Shaka Smart and the team we used to support him coaching, the Texas Longhorns. More to come.

Don’t Yell

In other Texas news, a football player recorded a video of the team getting yelled at for laughing on the bus after Iowa State laughed at them on the field on Saturday. We talked about the culture problem in this week’s Bevo’s Fake Nuts.
