Today’s Best Bets: The Angels Aren’t That Bad

The Canadiens are on the board. Today’s stuff: Our daily MLB moneyline and our latest NBA and NHL futures.

Anaheim at Minnesota

Not bad odds here for this pitching matchup. We don’t think the Twins are in as dire a spot as they’re made out to be, but the Angels are kind of habitually underestimated. They’re dysfunctional as an organization, but the roster’s usually not that bad.

Pick: Anaheim to win +116. 15.00 units to win 17.40. Kikuchi and Woods Richardson must start.

Stanley Cup

We’re starting to have a lot on Toronto, but Gelo loves the value, and the probability is great compared to some other potential plays. Nobody else leads their series 3–0, and I’d venture that nobody else has played as well as Toronto has played so far this postseason.

Pick: Toronto to win +600. 2.00 units to win 12.00.

First Round: Houston vs. Golden State

We’re not in a place of needing to hedge or anything, but we do want to avoid digging a big hole coming out of the first round, and the Lakers losing Game 3 has us a little bit concerned. Thankfully, the value should be positive on this one. The Warriors and Rockets are effectively playing a best-of-five series in which the Warriors have home-court advantage. Jimmy Butler’s injury is a concern, but we think single-game markets price that stuff well. If those have the Warriors favored tonight, we trust them, especially since Butler should only get healthier from here.

Pick: Golden State to win –160. 2.00 units to win 1.25.

I am only roughly 90% confident in these numbers. We’ll get that Google Sheet up soon which tracks all our bets this year.

2025: –3% average ROI (weighted by unit; sample size: 307 single-game markets plus one completed futures portfolio)

Pre-2025: 0% average ROI (worse when limited to only sports)
