I’ve been seeing a lot of erroneous claims that Texas is not in fact college basketball’s 2019 National Champions.
*sigh*
And the media wonders why people don’t trust it anymore.
To make it even clearer, I did some research this morning on how Texas compares to each of the four teams who could win that other tournament:
Auburn
- Fact: Texas beat North Carolina.
- Fact: North Carolina beat Duke.
- Fact: Duke beat Auburn.
Texas Tech
- Fact: Texas beat Iowa State.
- Fact: Iowa State beat Texas Tech.
Michigan State
- Fact: Texas beat Purdue.
- Fact: Purdue beat Michigan State.
Virginia
- Fact: Texas beat North Carolina.
- Fact: North Carolina beat Florida State.
- Fact: Florida State beat Virginia.
