This Suns Situation Wouldn’t Happen in the NIT

The Suns won eight straight games in the NBA bubble and didn’t make the playoffs. So, people are mad. Big mad. And to that I say…

This wouldn’t have happened in the NIT.

I don’t want to rub it in. But there’s a power struggle going on in the basketball universe between the NIT and the NBA, and it’s necessary to point out that the NIT would not have this problem. If the Suns won eight games in the NIT, and lost zero games, they would have not only won the NIT, but would have actually won 1.6 NIT’s. They would’ve won three games they weren’t even bracketed for. People would be saying, “How did the Suns do that? I have never seen anybody do that. Also, how are they in the NIT? They are a professional basketball team unaffiliated with any sort of university or even the NCAA at large. This is wild. This is historic.” And they would be right. It would have been historic, instead of just some little funny anecdote.

Just saying.
