There is an Instagram account dedicated to Maine’s bathrooms.

A friend of the blog (FOTB) alerted us the other day that there is an Instagram account dedicated to bathrooms in the state of Maine. Its handle is @bathroomsofmaine, and it is exactly what you would guess it is.

Presumably, the FOTB shared this information with us because they thought we would be interested. And are we ever. It’s always good to appreciate the latest creative advances made by the good people here at The Internet™, and this is certainly a creative advance.

Not that Bathrooms of Maine is the first of its genre. From the looks of it, there are dozens of “Bathrooms of” accounts out there—perhaps most notably Bathrooms of Pittsburgh, which has posted 148 times since debuting last September and has accumulated 955 followers. But to our knowledge, this is the first ‘Bathrooms of’ account to focus on Maine.

Is Maine a good state for bathrooms? We can’t say. We’d imagine New England is fertile ground for uniqueness in lavatories, thanks to the preponderances of local establishments and small towns. But we really don’t know. Which is why we’ll be keeping our eyes out for continued advances in the realm of bathroom-centric Instagram. Ideally, the people of every state will pay such attention to their bathrooms that we get Instagram accounts giving us the full case for why their state’s latrines are the most notable.

In other words, if you’re looking to jump on the trend, the market is far from clogged.
