Evidently, the species with the largest population in the world is the Antarctic Krill. I say evidently because that was a quick Google, and because I’m pretty sure they don’t do a census. But even if it’s only close to the most populous species, this means penguins, in addition to finding an entire continent they can keep mainly to themselves, have managed to evolve such that they eat the most abundant thing (by one measurement) on the planet.
