The Snowball Derby is happening this weekend.
I think.
I followed a bunch of NASCAR people on TWITTER (why did I just capitalize Twitter that was weird) in a fit of passion and they’re talking about it so I looked it up and it looks like it’s happening this weekend. Bunch of drivers. Small track. One of the drivers is Chase Elliott. Pretty cool. Dude wins a championship then goes down to Florida and is like “Hey guys I’m Chase Elliott remember me from before I won a championship” and they’re like “Yeah Chase we remember you remember when you were the youngest guy to ever win this race” and he’s like “Yeah that gave me a lot of confidence and I remember it fondly and that’s part of why I’m back here this year supporting this important tradition in our sport” and they’re like “Chase.
“That’s what we love about you.”
Anyway, cool thing. Super late model stock cars. Don’t know if it’s on TV but if it is I would guess it’s on a channel I don’t get. Bummer. Maybe by next year NASCAR will realize that it’s ok to pay television networks to put your product on TV. Like an ad. Or negative interest rates. Sometimes you have to think outside the box, NASCAR…
And think inside the flat screen.
