The Senators Really Whomped the Canadiens Today

Dominant. No exaggeration.

The Final:

Senators 4, Candiens 0

How It Happened:

The Sens were gradually putting their hosts’ skates to the fire, but they really poured it on with about four minutes left, with Drake Batherson’s second goal leading the way. Matt Murray with the shutout, only needing 23 saves.

Any Fights?

None.

Standings:

Vancouver has a lot more games left to play, but they also have to play those in rapid succession and only four of the 19 are against the Flames, meaning the rest are either opportunities for the Senators or games against playoff teams. So we’ll see.

Toronto: 60 points, 44 games played
Winnipeg: 57 points, 45 games played
Edmonton: 54 points, 43 games played
Montreal: 47 points, 42 games played
Calgary: 41 points, 44 games played
Vancouver: 35 points, 37 games played
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 34 points, 45 games played

Senators News:

Shane Pinto had an assist in his debut.

What’s Next:

Road trip continues Monday in Calgary before a four-game set (two away, two home) with Vancouver. I say the Senators win all five while the Canadiens go 2-4 or something and the Sens make people say, “could they?”
