The Senators Laid an Egg, and Not a Good One

Strange one. Really strange one.

The Final:

Flames 6, Senators 1

How It Happened:

The Senators were flatter than flat. Got smoked.

Any Fights?

Nope.

Standings:

Gonna be white-knuckle for sixth. Fifth looks highly unlikely. But how far these guys have come.

Toronto: 76 points, 54 games played
Edmonton: 68 points, 53 games played
Winnipeg: 59 points, 53 games played
Montreal: 57 points, 54 games played
Calgary: 49 points, 52 games played
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 49 points, 55 games played
Vancouver: 43 points, 49 games played

Senators News:

Associate coach Jack Capuano is the new head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team. Little cross-border action. Are the Senators the most patriotic team in both NHL countries?

Senators Thoughts:

Would be nice to finish with a win. Or at least a heartbreaking loss. A competitive showing.

Up Next:

Last game of the season. The Leafs come to Ottawa on Wednesday. The playoff field may be set by then (I think Montreal just needs a point against Edmonton tonight to clinch), so we may have some word on whether the NHL will actually make Vancouver and Calgary make up all those games, and what that then means for the Sens in the standings.
