Annihilation.
The Final:
Senators 5, Canadiens 1
How It Happened:
The better team won. Not a whole lot else to say.
Any Fights?
Nope.
Standings:
With Vancouver’s Tuesday night loss, the chances of our guys staying out of last place have increased. Vancouver plays at Edmonton again tonight.
Toronto: 72 points, 52 games played
Edmonton: 66 points, 51 games played
Winnipeg: 59 points, 52 games played
Montreal: 57 points, 52 games played
Calgary: 47 points, 51 games played
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 47 points, 53 games played
Vancouver: 41 points, 47 games played
The playoff field in the North is almost entirely set. Just waiting on Montreal to clinch.
Senators News:
Shane Pinto got his first NHL goal. Anton Forsberg was signed to a one-year extension—sounds like he’ll be the primary backup to Matt Murray next year.
Senators Thoughts:
This is really fun. Bummer to miss the playoffs, since the Sens are playing so well right now, but the playoffs will be there next year, and so it seems will be the Ottawa Senators.
Up Next:
Three games left: at Winnipeg on Saturday, at Calgary on Sunday, home against Toronto on Wednesday. Vancouver and Calgary are supposed to keep playing for a week following Wednesday’s finale.
