The Senators Have Another Goalie

Filip. Gustavsson.

The Final:

Senators 2, Flames 1

How It Happened:

Gustavsson, in his first career NHL start, turned away 35 of 36 Calgary shots, and Chris Tierney added to Ryan Dzingel’s early goal with a few minutes left to preserve the victory.

Any Fights?

Nope.

Standings:

Not much further back, even after the break:

Toronto: 42 points, 32 games played
Edmonton: 42 points, 34 games played
Winnipeg: 40 points, 32 games played
Montreal: 37 points, 31 games played
Vancouver: 35 points, 36 games played
Calgary: 33 points, 33 games played
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 25 points, 34 games played

Senators News:

Austin Watson hurt his hand blocking a shot and was seen with a cast on, so he may be out for a while. Alex Formenton is coming up to make his debut in Watson’s place tomorrow.

Senators Thoughts:

Nice to get a win, nice to keep frustrating somebody.

What’s Next:

Another one against the Flames on Wednesday, still in Ottawa.
