The Senators Continue to Lose Narrowly

I mean if you keep losing by one goal, eventually you’ll lose by zero goals. Right?

Sens stay hot.

The Final:

Oilers 3, Senators 2

How It Happened:

Marcus Högberg started in net for the Senators, and it didn’t go great for him. Allowed three goals on just thirteen shots, then got pulled for Matt Murray, whom he was supposed to be spelling after the game last night. Murray (and the Senators’ blueline, which I’ve learned means defense) shut the door, but the fellas just couldn’t get it tied up. 42 shots. Only the two goals.

Any Fights?

None tonight. Got that all out of the system yesterday.

Standings:

Jets and Flames aren’t finished yet, so there’ll be another two or three points out of that one:

Toronto: 21 points, 13 games played
Montreal: 18 points, 12 games played
Edmonton: 16 points, 15 games played
Winnipeg: 15 points, 11 games played
Vancouver: 12 points, 16 games played
Calgary: 11 points, 11 games played
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 5 points, 14 games played

Senators News:

Erik Bränström’s out a week or more, but Christian Wolanin came back tonight, which means I now know who Christian Wolanin is, which means I now know eleven Senators (if allowed to consult my notebook).

Senators Thoughts:

Bummer to lose, but does sound like things are going a lot better.
