The Senators Are Still in Last Place

Darn.

The Final:

Canucks 4, Senators 2 (but there was an empty-netter so effectively just a one-goal loss)

How It Happened:

The Sens tied it up twice, but they couldn’t keep it tied either time. Things were complicated by planned backup-for-the-game Matt Murray (Anton Forsberg was supposed to get the start, but picked up a lower-body injury during warmups) having to leave with a lower-body injury, turning planned not-even-active Marcus Högberg into the goalie for most of the game. Högberg didn’t have a terrible night statistically (I don’t know enough about hockey to know if he played well or poorly), but I’d imagine that it wasn’t the easiest night for him.

Any Fights?

Yes.

Hard to say who won, since we couldn’t see all of it, but I don’t think it was Erik Brännström.

Standings:

Toronto: 65 points, 48 games played
Winnipeg: 57 points, 47 games played
Edmonton: 56 points, 45 games played
Montreal: 49 points, 46 games played
Calgary: 45 points, 47 games played
Vancouver: 41 points, 41 games played
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 38 points, 48 games played

Not looking great for passing, but win the next one and I will say the exact opposite.

Senators News:

Not sure what the deal was with Forsberg’s injury, not sure what the deal is with Murray’s injury. I am worthless to you on those.

What’s Next:

The series moves to Ottawa. Tomorrow (Monday) night.
