I’m talking about The Plague.
Which is inevitably going to be one of the teams in a nationally touring indoor soccer league that begins play in 2025 only to fold four years later, having gradually disintegrated from semi-pro to just…well, amateur, I guess. But The Plague. The Plague will last two of those years. Their name will create a stir. That will be the point. Those who named it will oscillate between saying, “We thought it had been long enough,” and, “We were trying to make a stir,” and, “Oh we weren’t talking about the coronavirus it was you who brought up the coronavirus!” (They will always draw out the “corona” in “coronavirus.” It will be quite offputting.)
Anyway, get ready.
Because it’s gonna happen.
