The PGA Tour Did Brian Harman Dirty

Brian Harman leads the British Open right now hours ahead of the leadoff tee times of the fourth and final round. There’s a good chance this 5’7” 36-year-old left-handed golfer from Georgia (state not country) is going to be golf’s newest first-time major champion. It’s surprising, I think I saw him at 140-to-1 on Wednesday, I would like to be someone who took Brian Harman to win the British Open at 140-to-1 on Wednesday.

We’re not here to talk about Brian Harman, though.

We’re here to talk about Brian Harman’s website.

The backstory on how I came to know this is here, in a thread on Twitter, but what you need to know is that the PGA Tour can list an official website for each golfer on its site, and the one they list for Brian Harman is, firstly, clearly not official (it says “not official website” at the bottom), but is, secondly, completely nuts.

Here’s the link to brianharmangolf.com. It appears to be a front for furniture. I don’t know why furniture is something that needs a front, but I did not create brianharmangolf.com.

What’s really weird about this isn’t that the PGA Tour links to it on its site. It’s that the PGA Tour also seems to have used this site as the source for its own information on Brian Harman. Some poor schlub working for the PGA Tour was told to put in fun facts for each golfer and by the time they got to Brian Harman, they must have been saying, “There is no chance anyone will ever look for fun facts about Brian Harman,” and then Brian Harman went out and dominated the first three rounds of the 2023 British Open.

Hopefully a lot of people get nice interior decorating out of this.
