Texas Tech Has Won the Virtual NIT

All that should be said has been said. Texas Tech, the favorite entering the affair, did what we thought they would do, marching through the Virtual NIT en route to their first ever national title. In a seminal moment for the program, which has risen like lightning under Chris Beard’s leadership, the Red Raiders avenged the ghosts of 2003, triumphing over their in-state rival to cap off a magical season.

Few expected they’d be here. But what are expectations worth these days, anyway?

On a similar note, congratulations to Two Very Big Words, the victorious entry in our Bracket Challenge. Two Very Big Words, we’ll be in touch about your prize.

Thanks to everyone who followed along with the Virtual NIT. College basketball season is now officially over, but we aren’t going anywhere, so stay in touch. We’ll have more shenanigans coming around shortly.
