Texan Milk Update After Last Week

Ok. The Texas Tribune had a piece on this, so there’s the link to the full story, but here’s the summary:

  • “Most of Texas’ livestock survived the harsh weather.”
  • Production was slowed by natural gas being shut off, so “…milk and products like cream cheeses, ice cream and powdered milk will be hard to come by in some areas of the state, at least in the short term.”

In other words, could’ve been worse. Don’t panic if there’s a shortage at the grocer. It’ll come back. And in the meantime, any dairy you can consume here in Texas will help the industry.
