The Senators lost, it was kind of boring, consider this our only mention of them today. They now get the All-Star Break to think about how wonderful they are.
The Olympics Website Sucks
I’m trying, I mean really trying, to figure out if there are any overnight Olympics things going on tonight in case our buddy with the new baby needs something for us to bet on together (update: he’s boycotting, we respect the move, genocide is bad), and I am having a hard time. Google doesn’t realize the Winter Olympics have started (there are competitions before the Opening Ceremony in certain sports, guys, we’ve been doing this for over a hundred years how have we not figured this out), the official Olympics website is a disaster and that comes from someone whose own website has its flaws, and I am currently on a site called Deadline but that doesn’t show everything that’s happening it only shows the TV schedule and it doesn’t even clarify whether all the TV stuff is live.
Oof.
By the looks of it, we have some women’s hockey, some mixed doubles curling, and some alpine skiing and freestyle skiing and ski jumping and luge (separate events I don’t know why I listed them together) that have happened today slash are happening overnight. And it doesn’t appear we can bet on any of it, at least with the books I’m personally viewing.
NIT Musings
I really need a title for a segment about when a team decimates their own NIT chances, like Creighton did last night by winning at UConn. We could use NITe Train again, and just call it derailed, but that isn’t as fun as coming up with something new for this very common phenomenon. So, bonus points to anyone who thinks of said title. Might give you a free shirt. Honestly. I found a bunch of shirts that say, “Nice Swing, B****!” while packing this morning for the move this weekend. Nobody is going to buy those.

Game of the NITe tonight is Notre Dame at Miami, 6:00 PM Texas Time on ACC Network X, which we’ll remind you does not mean Packer & Durham get naked. After that, we’re turning to CBSSN at 8:00 to see if Dayton and VCU can keep it in the 60’s, and we mean combined. Finally, the second half of Villanova’s visit to Marquette at 9:00, which we’ll have to keep quiet because Fargo’s hopefully going to be sleeping and also our neighbors went to Villanova and we like them and their rooting interest is admittedly stronger than ours, which is based off of Shaka Smart being nice to us one time and mean to us zero times.
Godspeed. Happy Groundhog Day.
