That’s how you come back from heartbreak, folks.
One year after a crushing defeat at the hands of western neighbor California, Arizona has won it all. It was a dramatic vote (there was a sprinkling of Mr. Darkside-style action, intentional or otherwise, on behalf of South Carolina in the championship), but in the end, Arizona walked away a champion. The greatest state flag of them all. For this year, anyway.

Now, as always: The People’s Rankings, in which we take the different margins of victory/defeat and compare them against one another. It’s an imperfect way to stack things up, but it helps us by seeding the tournament for next year (when hopefully we’ll be up to 46 state flags that don’t glorify slavery, or perhaps even 50).
