Senators Sweep the Canadiens, Heads Roll

On the one hand, it’s pretty funny that the Senators sweeping the Canadiens resulted in the Canadiens firing their coach. On the other, what does that say about how bad the Senators are?

The Final:

Senators 5, Canadiens 4 (Shootout)

How It Happened:

For a bit there, it looked like the Sens had blown a 3-1 lead. But Brady Tkachuk found the net, a Canadiens goal was overturned, and Tim Stützle and Josh Norris each scored in the shootout to give the Senators two points.

Any Fights?

Unfortunately, the Micheal Haley/Phillip Danault one did not end up happening, but Tkachuk (who also scored in the first on a power play) bloodied up Ben Chiarot.

Standings:

Gaining.

Toronto: 30 points, 20 games played
Edmonton: 26 points, 21 games played
Winnipeg: 23 points, 18 games played
Montreal: 22 points, 18 games played
Calgary: 19 points, 19 games played
Vancouver: 18 points, 23 games played
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 13 points, 21 games played

Senators News:

Tkachuk lost part of a tooth. Erik Brännström got his first career goal. Thomas Chabot was back in the lineup. The list of Senators I know (with the help of that list) is up to 16.

Senators Thoughts:

I mean, the Canucks are within reach, right? Playoffs are out of the picture but getting out of last place is possible.
