Senators Stay Hot, Only Lose By One

Just one goal! Not even basically just one goal this time!

The Final:

Maple Leafs 6, Senators 5

How It Happened:

Wild game. Senators did lead at one point, but they also trailed by two thrice and got back in it each time. Auston Matthews had a hat trick for the bad guys.

Any Fights?

Nope.

Standings:

Remember: These don’t account for how hot a team is. And I’m not saying the Senators are hot, but they have lost a lot of basically-one-goal games in recent days.

Toronto: 59 points, 41 games played
Winnipeg: 53 points, 41 games played
Edmonton: 52 points, 42 games played
Montreal: 43 points, 38 games played
Calgary: 37 points, 41 games played
Vancouver: 35 points, 37 games played
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 30 points, 42 games played

Senators News:

Connor Brown scored in his seventh straight game, which is a franchise record. The trade deadline is…tomorrow? So keep an eye on that.

Senators Thoughts:

Not a bad week, even with all the losses. Played pretty well, and in the nice spot of being able to say, “Well, they held onto draft position this way.”

What’s Next:

Back to Ottawa for a two-game set with the Jets tomorrow and Wednesday.
